The Direct Drive R12 is designed to deliver a stable and authentic 12Nm output torque. It perfectly reproduces the steering force of road and race cars, providing detailed and immersive feedback of the vehicle and track surface directly to your hands.
- Inclined pole design: The R12 motor incorporates advanced technology derived from the R21 base, using a unique inclined pole design. The motor is intelligently designed in three sections with precisely calculated angles, which significantly reduces cogging, torque ripple, electromagnetic vibrations, and noise levels compared to conventional motors. Thanks to its innovative design, the R12 motor operates smoothly and quietly, offering unmatched smoothness and minimal noise and vibrations during operation.
- Design philosophy: The R12 base is designed with a high coercivity neodymium magnet motor. Unlike low coercivity motors, it does not lose strength when hot and can reach high temperatures with minimal losses. The need for a low temperature coefficient in high coercivity motors allows for preserving a wide range of nuance in motor operation.
- Ultra-low torque ripple: The R12 base motor uses an 18-slot, 16-pole design, the highest number of poles in its class. This design enables low torque ripple and exceptional shock absorption performance for a smooth and seamless driving experience.
